Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing is a specialty caring for women during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period. The well-being of society is directly linked to the health and survival of mothers and children. When the mother is healthy, she gives birth to a healthy child.

Prenatal guidance and efficient care are essential to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity.

The department is designed for graduate students to develop expertise and in-depth understanding in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing. It further enables the students to function as independent midwifery practitioners, effective educators, managers, and researchers in different settings.

Objectives

To monitor and evaluate Obstetrics and Gynecological nursing skills of faculty and students.
To demonstrate competency in practice to promote quality care to women and neonates.
To incorporate evidence-based nursing practice and identify the areas of research in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecological Nursing.
To demonstrate ethics in practice and research.
